Hamamelis x intermedia 'Birgit' is one of the darkest witch hazel selections that originated at Kalmhout Arboretum. The purple red blooms put on quite a display in the winter. The green foliage may also display a decent fall color which can range from yellow to orange. 'Birgit' may reach 8-10 ft in height and width in 15 years.
