Hamamelis x intermedia 'Jelena' Orange Witch Hazel

HAMAMELIS X INTERMEDIA 'JELENA'
ORANGE FLOWERING 'JELENA' WITCH HAZEL

Zones 5-8

'Jelena' is a classic witch hazel introduction from Kalmthot Arboretum that typically blooms around late January. This spectacular witch hazel has a purple-red calyx. The petals on 'Jelena' start out as a pink-red near the calyx radiating outward into a spectrum of colors that end at an orange-yellow at the tips.

This gives an overall copper orange look to this witch hazel, which is how this hamamelis also got the name of 'Copper Beauty'. 'Jelena' may reach up to 10 ft in height with a spreading habit.

The former owner of Kalmthout Arboretum, Robert de Belder, named this beautiful blooming witch hazel after his wife, Jelena. Hamamelis xintermedia 'Jelena' won a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit in 1993. 'Jelena' will put on an excellent show and is deserving of a spot in any garden.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of woody ornamentals, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the woody ornamentals you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
