Hydrangea Onyx Peacock™ is a beautiful newer hydrangea selection. The stems of Onyx Peacock™ are a dark black, creating a nice contrast with the rich green foliage. To add even more dynamic contrast, the large mophead blooms add more color to the display. These blooms bloom on both the old wood and the new wood on the hydrangea, ensuring a good bloom set. Onyx Peacock™ may reach 3-4 ft in height and width, making it great for smaller spaces or container planters.

Onyx Peacock™ may display pink or blue flowers depending on the pH of the soil. To have Onyx Peacock™ bloom blue to purple, change the pH of the soil to being more acidic. One way to do this is using a more acidic fertilizer. To make Onyx Peacock™ bloom pink, give this hydrangea lime. This will make the pH of the soil more alkaline and will transform the blooms to pink.
