Ilex crenata Touch of Gold™ is a spectacular selection of a spreading Japanese holly with golden variegation. New growth on Touch of Gold™ is a bright golden yellow. This color is bright, especially during the spring flush. As the leaf matures, a dark green center comes into the golden leaf creating a nice contrast. Touch of Gold™ has a nice spreading habit reaching 2 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. 

Touch of Gold™ was found by our friend, Pat McCracken, as a variegated sport on Ilex crenata ‘Hoogendorn’.
