'Florida Sunshine' is a golden yellow anise. This bright yellow foliage provides  great contrast against red stemming and a great contrast in the landscape. Our good friend, Tony Avent, of Plant Delights Nursery found 'Florida Sunshine' in Florida as a chance seedling from a rare population of Illicium parviflorum. Apparently, there were a few different seedlings with golden foliage and the very best was selected. This form, as I am told by Pat McCracken, is the most cold tolerant form of the selections.  'Florida Sunshine' may reach 4-6 ft in height and width. Give 'Florida Sunshine' protection from the hot afternoon sun to prevent leaf burn.
