'Wiltonii’, often just referred to as the “Blue Rug Juniper” is a nice small low growing juniper ground cover that can get some nice blue color in it. Like its name “Blue Rug” suggests, it stays low to the ground reaching 6-8 inches in height by 6 ft in width in 19 years . This can create an excellent evergreen ground cover for your landscape while not taking away from your main features of your garden. Some even use it to soften the texture of walls by draping over them. You may plant just one or you can plant in mass plantings to create a large ground cover quickly. The blue rug juniper makes a great bonsai candidate.
