Picea orientalis 'Mt Vernon' Miniature Oriental Spruce

Picea orientalis 'Mt Vernon'
Miniature Oriental Spruce

Zones 4-8

'Mt. Vernon' is a nice tight and extremely small selection of oriental spruce. The compact habit and tight dark green clustered growth make this spruce especially unique and different. New growth can be a light green, reaching 1- 4 inches of growth a year. After 10 years, 'Mt Vernon' may reach 1-3 ft in height and width with a globose rounded habit. 'Mt Vernon' is a special tree that can fit in miniature gardens well, or adds a unique interest when planted close to a walkway. 'Mt Vernon' was found as a witches broom mutation or "blessing" and introduced by Wells Nursery of Mt Vernon, Washington.

The main photo is a photo by Dave Olszyk of a 30 year old specimen on Camano Island, WA. All 1 gallons currently available are high grafted on standards.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
