'Gold Coin' is considered by many as one of the best glowing yellow pines for the winter. The dark green needles turn a to brilliant golden yellow in the winter landscape. 'Gold Coin' performs this color change well, even in warmer climates like USDA Zone 8. This contrast from summer foliage to fall, is quite stunning. In the winter, the yellow needles will contrast with nearly everything in the landscape. 'Gold Coin' has a conical form reaching 10-12 ft in height in 10 years. Candling and pruning can be done to keep this special pine confined to smaller spaces.
