Rhododendron stenopetalum is a unique evergreen flowering shrub often referred to as a Spider Azalea. While this azalea is very unique, it is also a native plant to Japan, naturally growing in Honshu and Shikoku. The leaves are very spider-like, but it is the pink spider-like blooms that appear in the fall that makes this azalea extra amazing. These pink red blooms are crazy and unique for azaleas. Rhododendron stenopetalum may reach 4-5 ft in height and width in 10 years. Rhododendron stenopetalum goes many names including Rhododendron macrosepalum, Rhododendron linearifolium, and Rhododendron dianthiflorum.
