Ulmus pumila âPendulaâ is a weeping contorted elm that is extremely rare in cultivation. It was brought to the United States in 1908 by Frank Meyer from the Peking Botanical Garden. In China, this selection was known as the âDragonâs Claw Elmâ. âPendulaâ makes a nice weeping umbrella reaching 4-5 ft in height by 6-7 ft in width in 10 years. Ulmus pumila âPendulaâ has also been known under the name âDwarf Weeperâ.
