Cornus kousa 'Celestial' White Flowering Dogwood

CornusĀ kousa

'Celestial'Ā

White Flowering Dogwood

Zones 5-8

Partial Sun to Full Sun

Ā

Cornus kousa ā€˜Celestial’ is a stunning hybrid dogwood, developed by Rutgers University, and admired for its profuse, creamy white flowers that bloom in late spring. This small, deciduous tree typically grows with a more compact size of around 15 feet tall and wide after 10 years. It forms an elegant, vase-like shape, and its blooms, which appear after the foliage emerges, create a striking contrast against the deep green leaves, which turn a rich red-purple in the fall. ā€˜Celestial’ is also noted for its resistance to dogwood anthracnose and powdery mildew, making it a durable, low-maintenance choice for landscapes. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soils. In addition to its ornamental value, it produces small red fruits in late summer that attract birds.

Ā Limited Quantities Available !!Ā As we have over a thousand cultivars of woody ornamentals, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the woody ornamentals you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
