‘Beni otake’ is an amazing linearilobum selection of Japanese maple by Ed Wood with an upright growth habit. The deep burgundy leaves of Beni otake are very thin and long and mimic that of bamboo. This is where this Japanese maple tree gets the name 'Beni otake' which translates as "red bamboo". This classic tree maintains great color even in full sun and can also go in partial shade areas with filtered light. ‘Beni otake’ can reach up to 15 ft in 15 years and adds an exotic element to any landscape.
