This dwarf palmatum leaf tree is known for having one of the deepest wine-red colors. In the fall, 'Pixie' performs with a bright fire-engine red that adds brilliant color to any landscape. This Japanese maple cultivar is also known for having unique dark red-to-black bark coloration that adds to its overall brilliance. 'Pixie' performs highly in full sun and maintains great color all summer long. The growth pattern is upright with lateral branching and around 6 ft tall in height. With its miniature stature, 'Pixie' makes an excellent tree for container growing or a perfect match for any limited garden areas ready to pack a big punch with color.
