Cercidiphyllum japonicum ‘Rotfuchs’ is a gorgeous Katsura tree that leafs out with a burgundy-red new growth in the early spring. This is where this Katsura tree gets the name 'Rotfuchs' which translates as "red fox". The habit and foliage tends to be more compact than the species growing upright to 25 ft with a fairly narrow form. Fall colors are bright golden yellows to orange. The falling foliage in autumn gives off a scent of burnt sugar making your garden smell like cotton candy. This is a fun tree for the family that everyone will love. Zone 4-8.
