Thuja orientalis 'Van Hoey Smith' is a variegated form of oriental arborvitae that has some striking yellow variegation over dark green foliage. 'Van Hoey Smith' gets to be a nice conical tree reaching 10-12 ft in height in 10 years. 'Van Hoey Smith' can make a specimen in the landscape that makes a statement, while providing a screen that can be used to block certain things from vision. Make sure to plant 'Van Hoey Smith' with good drainage. In most areas, give 'Van Hoey Smith' full sun for best variegation. If you live in an area with low summer humidity, make sure to give 'Van Hoey Smith' protection from the hot afternoon sun so the variegation doesn't burn.
