'Bryson City' is unique male ginkgo tree with a more narrow vase-like habit. This great-shaped ginkgo tree was found by Mrs. Mary Bryson Tipton. She was a missionary in World War I in China. When the missionaries were evacuated, she brought back this ginkgo and planted it in what is now downtown Bryson City, North Carolina.  The original Ginkgo biloba 'Bryson City' has claimed fame from all those who visit Bryson City. In the fall, 'Bryson City' turns to a bright golden yellow.

‘Bryson City’ may reach 20 ft in height by 6-8 ft in width in 15 years.
