'Swamp Thang' is upright dawn redwood selection that gives that eerie feel of a swamp. 'Swamp Thang' has foliage darker green than species over top of a deeper dark brown-red fissured bark. This selection by Tom Cox in Canton, Georgia  stands in the marsh area of the Cox Arboretum. We would expect this large growing dawn redwood to reach about 15 ft in 10 years.
