Ophiopogon sp. ‘Black Mondo Grass’ is an evergreen, tufted groundcover featuring striking purple-black foliage that adds bold contrast in borders, containers, or mass plantings. Growing 8–12 inches tall, it produces dark lavender summer flowers followed by purple berries in fall, offering seasonal interest. Slow-spreading and hardy, it thrives in fertile, moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils with part sun to part shade, making it ideal for edging, borders, or along water features.
