Petacides japonicus 'Nishiki buki' is a great perennial that will multiply and fill a small to medium-sized area.  While the blooms appear in February-March, they are inconspicuous being a pale green. This plant is known for its foliage. Each leaf may reach 12-18 inches in width. The creamy yellow variegation makes these large leaves extremely attractive. This variegated selection from Japan is originally named 'Nishiki-buki' but has also been known under the name 'Variegata'.
