'Silver Ray' is a slender, slow-growing tree with upright growth, featuring straight needles that are light silvery blue-green. Over 10 years, it typically reaches a size of 8 ft tall and 3 ft wide. Originally introduced by Herm A Hesse Nurseries, Germany, before 1972 under the name 'Glauca', it was later renamed Grootendoorst in 1978.
