'Horizon Monarch' is one of the most showy yellow blooming rhododendron. The buds are a vivid scarlet opening to a light yellow bloom. Often these yellow blooms may have a red flare. The blooms form large trusses that put on a beautiful display in the garden. ‘Horizon Monarch’ may reach 5-6 ft in height and width in 10 years. ‘Horizon Monarch’ was introduced by E.C. Brockenbrough of Bellevue, WA. ‘Horizon Monarch’ has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
