'Ilarian' is a Japanese maple selection by Talon Buchholz with an extraordinary amount of pink and white variegation that will show off in the landscape. I recommend giving 'Ilarian' protection from the hot afternoon sun as the variegation may burn in the late evening sun in the south. The variegation is stunning on this selection. We expect 'Ilarian' to reach 8-10 ft in 10 years.

Every so often at Buchholz Nursery, Talon would send out employees to find a unique seedling in the thousands of evaluations that stood out. 'Ilarian' was found and named after an employee named Ilarion.
