Acer palmatum 'Miss Piggy' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Miss Piggy'

Rare Miss Piggy Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

'Miss Piggy' is a very beautiful and unique tree. The buds on this Japanese maple do not grow in the opposite pairing, often even containing heavy fasciated growth. The new growth may even have branching that twists and curls like a pig's tail.

'Miss Piggy' unfurls its leaves from bright pink petioles that provide an extra, but short spring display. The leaves are a darker green that change to a purple near the edges. By mid-summer the leaves are a bright kelly green. During the secondary flushes 'Miss Piggy' often has bright salmon pink new growth. In the fall, Miss Piggy turns oranges to reds. The overall habit is dense with unique structures due to this unique bud structure. Don't miss out on this fascinating fasciation!

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
