"Snow Peak" Japanese Maple

'Yama nishiki' is a nice upright white reticulated Japanese maple. The bright white reticulation with green veins give the appearance of snow on mountain peaks, which is where this selection was named. Fall color ranges from orange to red. 'Yama nishiki' may reach 8-10 ft in 10 years.


This style of variegation on 'Yama nishiki' does not revert but is conditional to the environment. Spring weather that is cold and keeps maples leafing out slowly produces the best variegated leaves. Protection from the hot afternoon sun is recommended for best color.
