Hydrangea aspera 'Burgundy Bliss’ is a rare selection of rough leaf hydrangea that has purple plum colored leaves and a beautiful pink to blue lacecap blooms. The blooms are said to get bigger and more beautiful once the plant gets established in the garden. The leaves look almost like purple velvet . ‘Burgundy Bliss’ has been known under “Purple Leaf Form”, ‘Monpulsel’, and has been trademarked under another name as well. ‘Burgundy Bliss’ was imported to the United States by both Dan Hinkley and Ted Stephens. Make sure to give Hydrangea aspera protection from the hot afternoon sun. This selection does best with morning sun to dappled light.
